"does that make you nostalgic?"

there's something about the beginning of a new school year that brings me back to childhood. it was always so cool to go to school with brand new pencils, cool pens, new crayons and of course my lisa frank trapper keeper! at michael's school you have the option of pre-ordering school supplies through the school. just hand over a check and the school supplies are ready the first day of school. for the past two years, i have opted not to do that. there is just something about

going to the store...buying the new things...labeling your new notebooks and pencil box and going to school with a backpack so full you can barely carry it.

they say that the emotional power of smell conjures up memories more than pictures or even hearing a voice. something about the smell of a new box of crayolas or freshly cut grass takes me back to middle school. remember the rumor that they'd serve spinach on the days they grass was cut? maybe that was just at my middle school...
