i have been informed of the following by the eldest child:

ec: "you know mommy, when you make me clean the playroom, that makes me mad at you."

me: "really?"

I am often told, after disciplining a certain eldest child who shall remain nameless, "Mommmmmmmyyyy...you hurt my feelings!!!" (sputtered out in between sobs). Master manipulators, they are.
