girls night out

i had SUCH a fun girls night out last week! i really needed a night away since lee was about to be out of town for the weekend. there were eight in our party and we ate at the blue goose on greenville. we laughed a lot, and ate a lot and drank a lot, and it was SO much fun. why is it that mom's sacrifice so much and seemingly never take time out for themselves? i mean, to go out to eat with friends at a restaurant and not have to worry about high chairs, slings, booster seats, and cups with tops...oh my! the joy that is realized by not having to search the dark and scary area under the floor for the crayon that has rolled off of the table for the 8th time, or the shoe that was kicked off, or the napkin that was on their lap (because you're trying to instill some form of toddler etiquette) was amazing.

all too often i think we forget to pay homage to the mothers in our lives. the mothers that are friends, the mothers that raised us, the mothers that are part of the village that is helping us raise our own children, and most importantly to ourselves. we are mothers and we are valuable. one thing i know for sure is that i couldn't do what i do everyday without my army of mother's standing behind me to lend a hand whenever i need it. thank you to the mothers in my life
