channeling my inner annie

it takes a lot to surprise me. i pride myself on being intuitive and i pick up on the slightest changes in someone's tone or their sudden interest in me around certain dates. i can honestly say in my life i have been truly surprised three times. once when he proposed, another anniversary when he gave me a present i wasn't expecting but really wanted, and this year.

when someone took it upon themselves to break into our home and steal things, the two electronic items they found (and of course took) were my digital camera and our portable dvd player. i have more than one digital camera, so i started using my old old one that preferred working part time when i needed a full time worker. i would estimate, conservatively, that i take about 300 pictures a month. with such adorable subjects, who wouldn't?! anywho, my birthday present this year was a fancy schmancy digital camera. i'm so excited. i really love taking pictures of my children, and i also love taking pictures of other random things i find beautiful. i admire people with a good eye for design and photography.

so, with my newly acquired tool, i shall let the shutter fly and channel my inner annie leibovitz.
